Tahlia Petrosian

Founder @ Klassik Underground

Tahlia Petrosian is a member of the Viola Section of the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig and is the director of KLASSIK underground. Initiated in 2016, KLASSIK underground presents classical music in an innovative format and also brings classical music together with other art forms such as video installation, street art, theatre and dance. Guests who have appeared at KLASSIK underground include Joshua Bell, Alan Gilbert, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Andris Nelsons, Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Nikolaj Znaider. 

Tahlia is currently working with other leading orchestras and concert halls including the NDR Elbphilharmonieorchester, London Symphony Orchestra and Carnegie Hall, to develop new concert formats. She is also a consultant at Harrison Parrott, managing special projects and producing concerts. 

Tahlia studied Viola at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik and the Universität der Künste in Berlin as well as Arts (Humanities) and Law at the University of New South Wales Australia and Humboldt University Berlin. The winner of multiple university prizes, Tahlia represented the University of New South Wales in international law competitions and completed her law studies two years early. Her work has been published in the Australian Journal of International Law.
